Welcome to the Intelligent Cloud

The future of AI is the future of the Cloud

We already know about Linda Hamilton’s nemesis and Joaquin Phoenix’ girlfriend, but now it’s time to explore artificial intelligence in a practical way—to give cloud computing professionals the tools to innovate and make great decisions as this technology matures. Last year at CloudFest, we explored hyperscale enablement, and now we turn to AI to maximize the interoperability that this allows. The theme for CloudFest 2020 is The Intelligent Cloud.

The timing is right, as well: The overall cloud market is $250b and growing at 32% annually. AI is still a relatively small part of this, comprising $202.5 million in 2015—but forecast to reach $11.1 billion by 2024.  As Sir Isaac Newton said:

If I have seen further than others, it is by standing upon the shoulders of giants.

Humans have always been fascinated by their own minds: the mysteries and potential waiting to be unlocked. We’ve been making attempts at AI for over 60 years, and other technological building blocks had to first be arranged—each a milestone in its own right—in order to get us to where we are today, and where we’re poised to reach tomorrow. The amount of processing power and the speed of data throughput required for high-performance artificial intelligence place functional AI squarely in the Cloud’s wheelhouse.

From March 14-19, executives, decision-makers, and innovators in the Cloud will gather to explore the practicalities of innovating, wrangling, and leveraging AI:

CloudFest will showcase the test attacks carried out on the DNS. Internet-crippling level threats. What can take down the internet? Can AI stop it? Can we stop it without AI? We will also explore keeping bad actors out, immediately identifying and stopping abuse.

AI Driven Uptime

CloudFest will explore how AI can help route around problems. Humans are not good at proactive predictive analysis for things like traffic spikes. It’s an inherent human limitation: nobody has the cognitive bandwidth to manage hyperscale uptime manually!

Sales and Marketing

CloudFest will focus a lot of attention on using AI for account-based marketing. CloudFest will show how ISVs can implement algorithms/AI to help their customers make better decisions. AI as a product component: pre-existing tools built on machine learning are already pretty good.

AI Reselling

AI enablement will be table stakes sooner rather than later, as a step in the Cloud’s evolution. Very few companies can achieve this on their own, so you as a Service Provider fulfill a crucial role in the Cloud ecosystem by helping your customers step up. You aren’t only profiting, but actively modernizing the internet as you do so. You can enable your customers to save huge sums of money with relatively small investments. The economic effect is greatly amplified out into the world.

AI and The Human Brain

Machines have much to teach us about mindfulness, as it happens. The whole idea of meditation in general is processing the information thrown at you so you can deal with life. You’re essentially managing a DDOS attack. Mindfulness lets you process everything. So we’re doing mindfulness meditation on AI, which itself is a sort of mindfulness exercise with huge deluges of data.

The evolution of artificial intelligence will affect everyone on Earth, directly or indirectly, whether they realize it or not. If your business works in the Cloud, join us at CloudFest, March 14-19 at Europa-Park in Rust, Germany. From scale and uptime to security and even morality, let’s explore AI as an industry, and figure out how to use these powerful tools to make the world a better place. Unearth new insights, meet new partners, and see the future in 20/20.
